JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two former members of the military who have beaten unbelievable odds got the chance to fulfill a life-long dream. With the help of the Wounded Warriors project, the men flew in a fighter jet.
Brent Hendricks lost his leg when his vehicle rolled over an IED while in Iraq. Roberto Cruz was also injured while on duty in Iraq. Cruz spent a year and a half paralyzed after being hit by a sniper.
Both men shared the same dream of flying in a fighter jet, and the locally run wounded warriors project made it happen.
Retired Naval fighter pilot Scott Kelly told Channel 4 he enjoyed giving the men the opportunity to see the city from a different perspective.
Cruz and Hendricks said support from the
Wounded Warriors Project helped them deal with their injuries.
