POSTED: Sunday, November 8, 2009
UPDATED: 7:00 am EST November 9, 2009

The Glynn County Police Department said Sunday they've arrested a man for murder after a shooting in Brunswick.

Officers said Christopher Kimp, 21, was shot in the head while sitting in a pick-up truck at the intersection of 7th Street and Ogg Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Resucers took Kimp to a nearby hospital where he died. Officers said there were two other people in the truck with Kimp, but neither was hurt.

Officers said the witnesses were able to identify the shooter as Marquel Parker, 21, of Brunswick. They said he ran away after the shooting.

Police said they arrested Parker a few minutes later during a traffic stop. He's now charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
