Reid Gray Appears On 'Today' Show

Quinn Gray's Husband Says He Supports His Wife Even After Hearing Recordings

Quinn Gray's husband, Reid Gray, has shown up in court several times to support her and has repeated how he believes his wife was a kidnapping victim.

But Reid Gray admits when he hears what's on some of the 37 DVDs and CDs released by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office last week as evidence in his wife's extortion case even he has to pause.

On one of the secret audio recordings, Quinn Gray is heard saying to her alleged co-conspirator Jasmin Osmanovic, "What if he's (Reid) banking on the fact that you guys are going to shoot me?"

Osmanovic said he secretly recorded Quinn Gray in their motel room at the Emerson Inn and while driving around during Labor Day weekend.

Both Osmanovic and Gray are charged with extortion.

"There are times when initially when you sit in front of the FBI and they present you with evidence that she was the mastermind of this, and you have no choice but to believe that entirely," Reid Gray said Monday morning on NBC's "Today" show.

The evidence investigators said they've collected is damning. The recording made by Osmanovic is shocking, and the sex on it between Osmanovic and Gray is graphic.

"I feel that she's definitely participating," Reid Gray said on the nationally televised show. "I'm not sure after four days of being with this person what she believes and she doesn't believe, but I agree with you there are times when I just want to shut it off and be done with the whole thing, but I have to remember that there are many times that I heard his voice and him saying things that I believe he knew I would hear this audiotape sometime as well."

Quinn Gray is also heard many times going over the plan she and Osmanovic allegedly concocted.

During one exchange, the two talk about the ransom money.

Quinn Gray: "One-hundred thousand dollars is a lot of money."
Osmanovic: "I know." Quinn Gray: "Fifty-thousand dollars is a lot of money, really, now that I'm looking at it the way that what $50,000 is going to mean to me in the future."
    Osmanovic: "I know."
Quinn Gray: "Either that or you just blow his (Reid's) head off."
    Osmanovic: "Say what?"
Quinn Gray: "I said either that or you just blow his head off."

"I shook my head the same way when the FBI played it for me," Reid Gray said on the "Today" show. "It's probably the most hurtful, devastating words I've ever heard. I think of my children. I think of myself, and I think of how this is going to affect their lives going forward."

But Reid Gray said despite what his wife said, he stands by her. He believes she is mentally ill and needs help.

Quinn Gray: "We have to go over it a whole bunch of times."
Osmanovic: "Like I said, we have the whole day today. Whenever you want, whenever you feel comfortable, I'll drop you off, OK?"

"I believe she was abducted, but I believe very early on because of her mental illness she became a part of this, and it's because she's mentally ill that I have to stick by her," Reid Gray said.
