A driver died early Thursday morning after he was ejected when his car struck an SUV on Beaver Street. The car left the road and overturned.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1:25 a.m. but was not reported until about 7:30 a.m. when another motorist saw the overturned vehicle off the road about 2 miles west of Otis Road and called 911.

FHP Lt. Bill Leeper said the driver, Bobby Robinson, 22, was found dead at the scene. He was the only person in that vehicle.

According to the FHP report, Robinson drove his car into the oncoming traffic lane and struck the left side of the SUV. The 64-year-old driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries.

According to the report, Robinson continued driving onto the grass shoulder of the road and into the woods where it overturned. Robinson was not wearing a seat belt.
