Two Columbia County deputies found more than they expected when they stopped a car on Interstate 10 Thursday afternoon for excessive window tinting.
When a police dog trained to find narcotics alerted on the car, Sgt. Mike Sweat and Cpl. Keith Jackson searched the vehicle and reported finding 4 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. They also said they seized a .40-caliber handgun and $1,400 in cash from the vehicle.
The driver, Oral Martin, 25, and passenger Craig McKay, 26 -- both of Tallahassee -- were arrested.
McKay was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered held on $21,000 bond.
Martin was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. He was held on $5,000 bond.
