CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old Clay County man was convicted this week on charges of traveling to meet a minor to do unlawful acts, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and solicitation of a child to engage in sexual conduct.

In October, Andrew Johnston was one of 16 people arrested in a sting operation conducted by the Clay County Sheriff's Office and several other law enforcement agencies.

During the operation, detectives posed as a 14-year-old girl who posted an advertisement on Craigslist. Johnston then made arrangements to meet the undercover detective, who posed as the young girl, and drove to the location she gave him.

Johnston now faces up to 25 years in prison. He will be sentenced Wednesday.
