Police Seek Help Identifying Possible Hit And Run Victim

POSTED: 4:32 p.m. EST December 12, 2003

Police are asking the public to help identify a woman found dead on Water Street nearly two months ago.

Investigators said the body was discovered the afternoon of Oct. 19 under the Park Street viaduct, near the Federal Reserve Bank building. Police believe she was the victim of a hit and run, and died as a result of those injuries.

Being unable to identify her, they have asked that her photo be shown to the public to see if anyone can help identify the woman.

Because the photo provided is of a deceased person, WJXT and News4Jax.com suggest that anyone who would be offended to not view the photograph.

Anyone with information that might help the police investigation is asked to call Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide at (904) 630-2178.
