2nd Man Arrested In Compass Bank Robbery
Deputies: Man Tried To Help Hide Robber's Motorcycle
Clay County deputies have arrested another man in connection with a Compass Bank robbery in Middleburg last week.
Deputies said 25-year-old Brian Mullins tried to help 29-year-old David Inscoe Jr. hide Inscoe's motorcycle, which was used in the robbery.
Inscoe was arrested Friday on robbery charges after deputies found him at his Middleburg home.
Deputies said a Inscoe was wearing all black and a motorcycle helmet when he walked into the bank in the 2300 block of Blanding Boulevard on Jan. 11 claiming to have a gun.
Deputies said $8,600 was placed in a duffel bag, and Inscoe got on his motorcycle to leave but crashed before leaving the parking lot, dropping a loaded 9 mm handgun in the process.
He got back on the motorcycle, but it was found abandoned less than a mile away. Deputies said Inscoe drove the motorcycle to a location he had arranged with Mullins about a 1/4 mile from the bank.
Deputies said Mullins was there to help Inscoe load the motorcycle into a trailer and then drive away in Mullins' pickup truck with the trailer.
Deputies said Mullins received $100 in cash, $30 in gas and about 30 pills of a controlled substance. Investigators said Mullins spent the next three days helping Inscoe with where to hide and dispose of the motorcycle and in creating an alibi for their whereabouts during the time of the robbery.
