3 wanted for stealing car in Ponte Vedra Beach

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Three men are wanted in connection with the theft of car from a Ponte Vedra Beach home that occurred between Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

A 23-year-old woman called deputies when she discovered her 2008 Chevrolet Impala missing from the parking lot in the 600 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard. The victim told deputies that the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside.

A Jacksonville police officer spotted the vehicle Tuesday afternoon and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver and two occupants refused to stop. The officer found the car abandoned on Eastdale Drive a short time later.

Surveillance images shows the three suspects stop in front of a home, get out, jump a fence and run through the yard.

Anyone with any information concerning the identity of these individuals is asked to contact Detective David Garns at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-3982. You can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling Crimestoppers at 888-277-TIPS.
