3 ways to improve your resume

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Career experts say job recruiters spend only six seconds reviewing a resume. So, to make those seconds count and help you land the job, here's three ways to improve your resume.

First, re-order your resume. Don't list positions you had a long time ago. Career experts say age discrimination does exist. And if you're not a recent grad, leave out the graduation date and GPA.

Next, list specific abilities and training like "C++ certified" instead of being generic and putting "computer programmer."

And third, typography experts say using Times New Roman font on your resume is the same as wearing sweatpants to an interview. Instead use the Helvetica font. It portrays you as honest and professional.

New reports show 94 percent of job recruiters use sites like "LinkedIn" when hiring. So don't forget to post yours during your job hunting!
