Old Fuller Warren Bridge To Be Demolished

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Transportation has applied for a permit to demolish the old Fuller Warren Bridge.
The application was filed with the Army Corps of Engineers on April 6.DOT would like to have the bridge demolished before the Super Bowl in 2005, but it's uncertain if that can be done in time.Part of the process would involve blasting, but that would be scheduled in the winter, after manatees move south from the St Johns River.The old Fuller Warren was replaced with a new bridge in late 2002.
