34-Year-Old Woman Killed In Fiery Crash

Police: Car Struck Concrete Utility Pole, Caught Fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 34-year-old woman was killed in a fiery crash late Friday night on the Northside, Jacksonville police said Tuesday.

Police said Ulanda Peterson was a passenger in the front seat of a car that was traveling northbound on Lem Turner Road just before 11 p.m.

Police said that as the car approached an intersection at Broward Road, the driver of the vehicle lost control and struck a concrete utility pole on the driver's side.

The driver was ejected and suffered serious injuries, police said. They said Peterson was trapped in the car, which caught fire.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
