4 arrested in 2 separate meth labs
Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office are investigating two separate meth labs that deputies found Monday.
The initial lab was found after deputies went to a residence in the 3300 block of 10th Street in Elkton to try to find a vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Office. The complainant said she let a man borrow the vehicle and he had not returned it in time.
As deputies spoke with the woman, she said the man, 30-year-old Bradley Morris, was staying with her temporarily.
The woman showed deputies the room where Morris was staying, and they immediately recognized chemicals and paraphernalia associated with a meth lab, deputies said.
As the investigation continued, Morris returned to the home driving the woman's vehicle. A check of his driver's license revealed that it was suspended.
Morris was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Charges are pending in regards to the meth lab.
The second lab was reported just after 5:30 p.m. when a local bail bondsman went to a home in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive to revoke a bond. The bondsman said that while there, she saw items associated with a meth lab and was overwhelmed by a strong odor, deputies said.
Deputies searched the home and found evidence of an active meth lab.
Detectives arrested three people on charges in connection with the lab. Dawn Berg, 19, Billy Jacobs, 19, and Joseph Joyce, 32, all face numerous charges.
