4 people, dog rescued from sinking boat

No injuries reported after catamaran sinks into water

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue were called to Little Talbot Island in reference to a sinking vessel Tuesday evening.

The Coast Guard responded and JFRD said they were canceled en route on the call.

A catamaran was sinking into the water with four adults and one dog on board, according to the Coast Guard.

Three men, a woman and the dog fell off the boat onto a 10-foot life raft.

Mayport crew members rescued the individuals and the dog onto the Coast Guard boat.

No injuries were reported in this incident. The dog was also in good condition, officials said.
