Search For Missing Jacksonville Boys Shifts To Volusia County
Authorities said 13-year-old Brian Hayes and 12-year-old Mark Degner walked away from Paxon Middle School on Feb. 10. An aggressive search by the parents and Jacksonville police has turned up reports that the boys were sighted in north Jacksonville in the first two weeks after they disappeared.Both boys are developmentally delayed and need certain medications.Deputies believe they may be seeking refuge in Volusia County at a relative's house.According to a report by WKMG-TV in Orlando, police have visited the homes of 65 sex offenders in their search for the boys.An $8,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their safe return.- March 4, 2005: $8,000 Reward Offered For Information On Missing Boys
