JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A kindergarten teacher was arrested early Sunday, accused of possession of drugs when arrested at a nightclub early Sunday morning, along with a charge of sales of a controlled substance that resulted from an ongoing undercover police operation.
Police said Amanda Humphreys, 22, an employee at Arlington Kindergarten, was not the subject of the police investigation, but was present an Atlantic Boulevard home on March 22 when an undercover officer arranged to buy an ounce of powder cocaine for $900.
At one point in that transaction, the alleged seller, Jovan Roberson, pulled a gun.
Humphreys was one of several people arrested Saturday night during a raid on Metro Club on Plum Street. Arresting officers said she had a baggie in her purse containing a white powder that tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to the arrest report, Humphreys told police she was given the powder by a friend and did not know it was meth. She also said she is three months pregnant.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office plans to release more details Monday afternon about the Metro Club raid over the weekend. Channel 4 will have a full report on
