JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An employee of an Edgewood Avenue apartment complex for seniors was shot Thursday after an 84-year-old tenant became agitated and pulled a gun, police said.
Channel 4 learned that Willie Hargrove and a leasing agent were talking in the office of the Rosalind Villa Senior Apartments when the conversation escalated into an argument."He was renewing his lease," a fellow employee, Warren Hodges, told Channel 4. "He was sitting down. He pulled a gun out of some department store bag and he shot her -- shot her in the arm."
After Hargrove fired one shot, Hodges said he didn't drop the gun."The gun was a little bit too much for him," Hodges said. "He kind of went around like he was going for the manager, then I guess he changed his mind."The woman, whose name was not released, was hospitalized, but her injury was not life-threatening.
