Jacksonville Deputy Charged With Domestic Battery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was arrested Tuesday, accused of taking his girlfriend to the floor and struggling with her.Ernest Kelly Taylor, 37, was charged with domestic battery after his girlfriend went to the state attorney's office what had happened during the couple's argument on June 20. She said she waited to report the incident out of fear since Taylor is a police officer.During his three years with the department, Taylor has been reprimanded for failure to obey an order and unbecoming conduct.
Taylor is being held without bond. He has taken a voluntary leave without pay, pending the outcome of this case.
