It's Pot Of Coffee, Not Pot For Coffee
POSTED: Thursday, June 30, 2005
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Coffee pot took on new meaning when a Starbuck's customer left a half-gram of marijuana as a tip for a barrista.
That was before he returned to the St. Johns Town Center store, fought with police and dropped his stash.
Police said Delshawn Prejean, 35, told the server he'd left a tip on the counter. When she looked down and saw a small amount of unwrapped marijuana, he was already gone.
Prejean was subdued by onlookers after fighting with a sheriff's officer who tried to stop him in the shop's parking lot.
Officers said that during the struggle Wednesday, he dropped a box containing marijuana and rolling papers.
The Jacksonville resident was charged with battery, resisting an officer, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released from jail.
