JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A car crash on Jacksonville's Westside sends five people to the hospital Sunday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said a 1997 Ford Aerostar van was traveling eastbound on Normandy Boulevard, approaching Chaffee Road.

The driver ran a red light, causing the van to crash into a Honda Civic that was traveling southbound on Chaffee Road.

The van hit the right passenger side of the Civic.

Four people were taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, and one patient was taken to Orange Park Medical Center.

Charges are pending.
