FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. - Mercury Moon Bar and Grille in Fleming Island was the last place anyone saw 22-year-old Amber Bass alive; five months later her family is still trying to keep Bass' case alive and find the person responsible for her death.
"I'm going to miss her smile and her little giggle, her little million dollar giggle," said Bass' friend, Robert Singer. "She's one in a million. I've never met anyone like her. I hope to one day maybe meet someone like her, she meant a lot to me."
Singer told Channel 4 that he dreams about Bass all the time, the two dated and then were best friends for 4 years, he says they always knew what the other was thinking.
"It breaks my heart that all this happened and everything, I really miss her a lot," said Singer.
"She'll always be a part of our Christmas tree, my wife's an ornament that's especially for Amber and it's on the tree right now," said Singer's father, Pete.
On July 19th, Bass left Chili's and went to Mercury Moon with some friends and then home.
"She was driving home from the moon and she said she had a secret to tell me. and i kept asking her what it was
and she told me she would tell me later, she would tell me later, and i never got to find out what it was," said Robert Singer.
Bass's sister found her shot dead in their driveway that night. Surveillance video a couple blocks away caught a white car on camera. Bass' purse was stolen that night and is still missing.
"I just hate thinking that someone's out there, they got completely away with this, it's not right, it's not right at all," said Singer.
