Suspect In Shooting Of Central Fla. Deputy Captured In Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A man suspected of shooting an Orange County, Fla., deputy earlier this week as well several other felony charges was captured overnight by Glynn County police.
Jeffrey Forbes, 22, was taken into custody at a Red Roof Inn in Brunswick after police evacuated guests in adjacent rooms.
Glynn County police's Special Operations Response Team and patrol officers were joined by the U.S. Marshal's Service out of Savannah in apprehending Forbes.
Forbes was wanted for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, kidnapping a child under 13 years of age and armed burglary of an occupied dwelling, and probation violation. He was named as a suspect in the shooting of Orange County Deputy Adam Pierce on Monday night.
Pierce was trying to break up an apparent drug deal when he was shot. He remains in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center Friday.
Also arrested was Rachelle Jean Marie, also of Orlando, who as in the room with Forbes. She was charged with hindering apprehension of a criminal.
Both Forbes and Marie are being held without bond in the Glynn County jail. Orange County detectives are headed to Georgia to meet with U.S. marshals to work out the details of bringing Forbes back to central Florida.
