Elderly Man Dies After Being Struck By Car In Lakewood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An elderly man in a motorized wheelchair has died after he was struck by a car in Lakewood Thursday evening.
Police said 83-year-old Leslic Ivan Campbell died of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old high-school student. The crash happened about 7 p.m. near the intersection of University Boulevard and San Jose Boulevard.A local doctor witnessed the crash and administered CPR, but Campbell died from his injuries Friday morning.Preliminary reports from police indicated that the driver was not at fault.
