Good Afternoon. Good Samaritans came to the rescue of those six boaters - and now they're back on dry land. The fire started in the middle of the night, as they were well offshore. Channel 4's Ashley Mitchem joins us now from the Channel 4 Newsroom. Ashley , how are those boat passengers are doing now ? 3 3 Could you imagine sleeping on your boat and waking up to smoke-- and realizing your boat is on fire...the worst part....you're off shore far from help. That's exactly what happened to the men this morning aboard their boat...they were out for the Blue Water fishing Tournament- four of the six people were asleep when a fire broke out in the engine room.. The boat, 'Treehouse', was 35 miles off the coast when it caught fire. One man did hurt his ankle ... and explains what happened. 3 The Coast Guard was dispatched to that location for rescue. Before they arrived, good Samaritans also in the tournament on a passing boat heard the Mayday calls on their radio and stopped to rescue its six passengers. 3 All six rescued were taken to Camanchee Cove Marina- with only the one man with a minor injury. The cause of the fire is being investigated.AM C4 TLS.
