66-year-old killed in Putnam County crash

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -

A 66-year-old Satsuma resident was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Georgia Barnett was driving east on Dog Branch Road, which is a dirt road, just after 9 p.m.

They said Barnett failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road and into a ditch.

The vehicle caught fire after coming to rest, troopers said.

Barnett died at the scene.

Troopers said blood alcohol content results are pending.
