75-year-old man pumping gas robbed of wallet, police say

Police: Robber asked man for money, to use cellphone before stealing wallet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 75-year-old man who was pumping gas Wednesday morning was robbed of his wallet, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police arrived around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy Oil at 6706 103rd St. after the robbery was reported.

JSO said the victim told them he was pumping gas when the robber approached him and asked for money and to use his cellphone.

When the man refused, the robber grabbed the man's wallet from his pocket and ran off, authorities said.

Authorities are now searching for the robber.
