Kevin McAfee and his family were among thousands Monday who attended the White House Easter Egg Roll.

The 8-year-old Jacksonville student from St. Mark's School, whose poster was chosen as the winner by the First Lady in a nationwide contest, was VIP on Monday, and his whole family met the First Family.

Earlier this year, students from elementary and middle schools across the country submitted art work for the poster contest.

Kevin's mother said it took him three hours to complete the drawing, and the family has always encouraged their children to explore art.

"My sister is the art teacher at Atlantic Coast High School, so when they were very little, she started working with them individually, and Kevin has just really taken a liking to art," Shawna McAfee said.

Rep. Ander Crenshaw had a private tour of the Capitol arranged for the visiting family.
