Homelife Furniture To Close Stores
Eighth-Largest Furniture Retailer Operates 130 Stores In 26 States
Hoffman Estates, Il. -- The HomeLife Furniture chain is shutting down.
The company hasn't given a formal explanation of why it's going out of business. But recent financing problems had caused some furniture manufacturers to stop shipments.
HomeLife was once owned by Sears and is the nation's eighth-largest furniture retailer, operating more than 130 stores in 26 states.
Homelife has two stores in the Jacksonville area, one near Regency on Atlantic and another in Orange Park on Wells Road.
Channel 4 is told that the company will file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection on Friday.
