JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An 89-year-old man hit by a car last month has died.
Jacksonville police said William Martin was crossing in the 6000 block of Wilson Boulevard, from south to north, on the Westside at about 10:40 a.m. May 29.

Police said Martin was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Witnesses at the scene did not see any improper actions by the driver, police said.
They said Martin was found at fault in the crash.
Police said Martin's injuries were not initially considered life-threatening, but he died Monday.
Martin retired from WJXT after working 40 years as a broadcast engineer.
