MARIETTA, Ga. -- A 13-year-old girl reported missing from a blueberry farm in Florida was located in suburban Atlanta late Wednesday, according to authorities.
Marietta police say a car carrying Marlene Brito was stopped by officers about 7:30 p.m. after a "Samaritan citizen" following an Amber Alert on the girl called 911 to report seeing the suspect car at a gas station.
The alert was issued Wednesday morning in north Florida and Georgia.
Marietta Detective Jacob King said the girl appeared to be all right and the officer who stopped the car -- E.T. Lawary -- said the girl was "acting normally." King said she and the man she was with -- identified as 25-year-old Juan Martinez-San Augestino -- were taken to police headquarters for questioning.
Marlene's family said the girl was going to the restroom Sunday afternoon, but never returned.
Marlene's brother, Israel Brito, said the family searched and couldn't find Marlene. When they noticed a van belonging to an acquaintance of the family, Juan Martinez-San Augestino, was also gone, Israel called 911.
"He's like 25, and my sister is only 13," Israel told Channel 4's Melanie Lawson.
