POSTED: Thursday, May 25, 2006

The former pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Dr. Robert Gray Jr., faces two additional counts of sexual battery for incidents that allegedly took place decades ago.

Robert GrayGray, 80, was arrested last Friday on two counts of battery based on statements by two women now in their 30s. They claim they were sexually abused by him in his church office when they were 6 years old and students at Trinity Baptist School.

According to the new arrest report, a 32-year-old woman claims Gray kissed her when she was 5, then put his hands under her dress and exposed himself to her when she was 8.

The woman claims the second incident took place in Gray's car parked on church property, then continued in his office until someone knocked on the door. She claims he then give her money to buy a soft drink and told her it was a "reward."

Gray's attorney waived his court appearance on the new charges Thursday morning. Gray continues to be held without bond in the Duval County jail.
