Teen Dies In Single-Car Crash In Julington Creek Neighborhood

A 17-year-old Jacksonville girl died after a single-car crash early Sunday in northwest St. Johns County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Laura Rosenthal was driving on Durbin Creek Boulevard just off Race Track Road about 12:40 a.m. The accident report said she drifted onto the shoulder of the road, overcorrected, left the other side of the road and slammed into a tree.

Troopers said Rosenthal was not wearing a seat belt. The investigation into the accident was continuing.
