$96 robber faces life in prison

Anthony Christopher, 29, robbed Kangaroo gas station in 2010

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who robbed a Kangaroo gas station of $96 is now facing a life sentence in prison.

A surveillance video at the gas station on Old Middleburg Road in July 2010 show Anthony Christopher, 29, enter the store, walk around then walk to the register to look at items.

Christopher began talking with the clerk, pulled out a pistol on him, took the victim's phone, demanded $96 from the cash register and fled.

Christopher then placed the stolen phone on Craigslist. When the person purchasing the phone on Craigslist realized it was stolen, he contacted the victim. Investigators then located Christopher through information listed on the Craigslist posting.

Christopher has a prior conviction for robbery in Camden County, Ga. He will be sentenced Oct. 17.
