JACKSONVILLE Beach, Fla. -- The man behind Paris Hilton's new club in Jacksonville, Club Paris, was recently arrested.
Jacksonville Beach police arrested 34-year-old Fred Khalilian after an altercation at a popular beach club.
"He was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer which is a felony," said Gene Smith of the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.
Jacksonville Beach police told Channel 4 that Khalilan was at a bar called the Ritz when, according to the police report, he "refused to pay his tab … was yelling and using profanity."
Police said they were only going to issue Khalilian a trespassing warning when he bumped an officer and repeatedly told that officer, "I own Club Paris." According to police, Khalilian also grabbed the officer's arm and pushed him before being arrested.
"First time he grabbed the officer, the officer said, 'Please don't touch me, I just need your info.' Second time he grabbed the officer's arm and said, 'You are going to listen to me,'" Smith said.
Khalilian was taken to jail on a felony charge of battery, a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and another misdemeanor charge of trespassing.
Khalilian made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, and the judge set his bond at $5,000.
