JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The baby sitter for a toddler who police said drowned after being left alone in a bathtub has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Investigators said Stephanie Smith was giving the 18-month-old a bath in March at a home on the Westside when Smith said she left the child alone in the tub for at least 10 minutes while she answered the phone.

Smith will be sentenced next month and could get up to nine years in prison.
