Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida has some exciting news for the military community. The organization has received a grant for a Military Mentoring Program and is actively recruiting military children to sign up as soon as possible.
Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm, representatives will answer questions about the program during a Channel 4 phone bank. You can find out about the military program and how to get your child registered.
The grant supports children in military families and engages active duty, retired or reserve military personnel as volunteer mentors. (Read the Parent Flyer here.)

Staff carefully match adult mentors and youth mentees in long-term, one-to-one friendships and provide professional support for the volunteers, children and families throughout the life of the match.
There will be a Spanish-speaking representative available on the phone bank for any Spanish-speaking viewers. We will also have a representative from BBBS of Northeast Florida answering questions on News4jax.com, also from 5 to 7 p.m.
