A fire on a car carrier on Interstate 295 early Tuesday morning backed up southbound traffic near Commonwealth Avenue for over an hour.
The fire was reported about 7:20 a.m. and all southbound lanes blocked as firefighters put out the fire that scorched several cars on the big rig's trailer.
Two of three southbound lanes were reopened just before 9 a.m. as the Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
