3 A staple in Avondale is back open for business. Flames from a kitchen fire tore through Biscottis January 23rd. Now, less than two weeks since ...and the renovations are complete. Channel 4's Ashley Mitchem takes us inside the decades-old eatery that's now ready to serve again. 3 00-0817-22Biscottis...known for its food, cakes and artwork, opened its doors for customers again on Monday. Looking around the place you would be surprised to hear just two weeks ago it looked like this.January 23rd the owners were awoken to the news their 20 year old business was on fire.Barbara Bredehoeft, Co- Owner 45:03 Well you never think it's as bad as you know when you get that call you never think it's going to be that bad but it was pretty badThe accidental fire started in the kitchen and destroyed around 1,000 square feet of the 35 hundred square foot eatery.45:45 it essentially took our whole kitchen so we are these guys worked nearly 24/7 for twelve days for us to get open and we're pretty happy with the resultsAlthough the restaurant is in a plaza, connected to other shops in Avondale, no other businesses were affected.Since the opening Monday things are getting back to normal.47:15 Absolute total relief and to hear the normal sounds music coming over the speaker and to hear table for two coming in the restaurantThe restaurant's catering business was not interrupted by the fire because it's sister restaurant BB's Restaurant and Bar in San Marco took care of those orders.To celebrate the re-opening of Biscottis they're now offering half price wine tonight through next Wednesday.
