Plumes of black smoke coming from a Westside structure fire could be seen for miles Friday evening.
Firefighters were called to the 4700 block of Shelby Avenue at about 6 p.m. The fire cheif told Channel 4 that the home on fire was a vacant home. No firefighters were injured in the fire. The home was completely engulfed in flames at one point and is now a total loss.
Channel 4 asked the fire Chief if lightning from Friday night's storms was to blame for the fire, he said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
