Body Found At Road Construction Site

PALATKA, Fla. -

A man's body was found near a bulkhead in the area of Silver Lake Drive Saturday evening by a father and his child who were out walking.

Deputies are saying the body is that of 49-year-old Joel Rife, of Palatka.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Rife died of natural causes. Investigators said it appeared he may have fallen down an embankment at the work site.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiners Office are still investigating the incident.
