Louisiana State University's Baton Rouge campus was evacuated Monday following a bomb threat.
An alert posted on the school's website said, "A bomb threat has been reported on the LSU Campus. Please evacuate as calmly and quickly as possible."
Officials told WDSU-TV in New Orleans that classes and a news conference with the LSU football coach were canceled because of the threat. The evacuation also shut down the LSU Laboratory School, the on-campus college preparatory school, WSDU-TV reported.
On Friday, a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the University of Texas at Austin, though authorities later determined there was no threat to campus, a university spokeswoman said.
A second bomb threat surfaced Friday at North Dakota State University, which also ordered a campus-wide evacuation. Federal authorities responded to the Fargo campus along with local officials. The school and police later reported that a sweep of the campus found no danger.
