JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown appointed Aleizha Batson as the public communications manager in the Office of Public Affairs.

Batson, 41, will serve as the second-in-command in the Office of Public Affairs. She will earn $89,750 annually.

She is currently the public outreach manager of DC Water, the water and sewer authority for Washington D.C. Previously she worked with the Dalton Agency and national sports organizations such as the PGA Tour and The First Tee.

Batson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1993 and a master’s degree in sports administration in 1995 from Temple University.
