Car found in Westside pond

JSO: unknown who owns car or how it got in pond

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A car was found in a pond in the Paxon area of the Westside early Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The pond is located off West First Street and Hood Avenue, near Commonwealth Avenue.

A diver went into the pond to search for the driver, but no one was found.  JSO said the driver was not at the scene.

Officers said they don't know who the car belongs to or how it got there.

The car was removed from the water by 6:30 a.m.
