3 A neighbor is the one who recorded the aftermath on video ..when 23 year old Makeisha Brooks, 6 months pregnant, was wounded. Police say 35 year old Virginia Wyche pulled the trigger .. Right now, she is in jail .. held on 1 million dollars bond. The shooting was at Wyche's home .. on Castle Boulevard near Sibbald Road. Channel 4's Heather Leigh spoke with a neighbor who knows both women ..she is joining us LIVE from the Sheriffs office. Heather. 3 3 3 3 It was a frantic scene yesterday on Castle Boulevard... you can see and hear in this video 23-year-old Makeisha Brooks kneeling over in a white chair... Police say the pregnant mom was shot in the stomach....Mary, a neighbor who knew Brooks, 09:06 - 09:22 "I was really heartfelt about that, cause I'm sure at 7 months, she had most likely learned to love that baby."The State attorney's office says Brooks was 6-months pregnant...she was taken to UF health in critical condition yesterday... today, the state attorney confirmed the baby didn't make it.Police say the entire situation started after Brooks and Virginia Wyche got into an argument over Facebook the night before...They say Brooks showed up at Wyche's house the next day...looking to talk about the argument more...in the arrest report, Wyche says Brooks slapped her in the face... and that's when she pulled out a gun and shot her. Heather S/U, "Mary says she closed her door after she heard the first gun shots... afraid that she may be shot... she called 911 and just a few minutes after that, she says she got a knock on the door."Mary, a neighbor who knew Brooks, 07:26 - 07:38, "Her mom came while I was on the phone, really banging on my door in a really realy frantic, saying call rescue my daughter has been shot, my daughter has been shot. I was trying to tell her that's what I'm doing right now."When police arrived, they loaded Wyche into the back of the police car...Wyche made her first appearance in court this morning... the State attorneys office says she's charged with Attempted Murder.The Medical examiners office is trying to figure out whether the baby would have been viable outside the womb...If so, Wyche could face a murder charge. Her bond is set for 1 million dollars... Mary says that's outrageous.Mary, a neighbor who knew Brooks, 11:53 - 12:10, "Even with that type bond, she's not going to have a chance to come out, until whenever, if ever. I really feel sorry for her and her family as well. Cause her mom was a good friend of mine." 3 There's a bill sitting on Governor Rick Scotts desk that would change the law for someone who kills an unborn child... right now, the state has to prove that the child could survive outside the womb. this bill would make it a crime to kill a baby no matter how far along the child is.
