We're also learning new information tonight about the 3-year-old child who was killed along U-S 17 Tuesday night. The child's name is Morgan Calway. The driver who hit him, still hasn't been caught. Channel 4's Elizabeth Campbell was in Putnam County and talked to Morgan's grandfather. He didn't want to go on camera, but he told us how the family is dealing with this tragedy. 3 0-523-28TRACK - This is the Putnam County road that 3-year- old Morgan Calway was killed on.He was hit by a car Tuesday night on US-17 North in San Mateo.Morgan's grandfather is the pastor of the San Mateo Church of the Nazarene. His home is behind the church and that's where family lost track of the child for just a few seconds -- then realized he was gone.STAND UP - 4159 morgans grandfather told me the 3yo was just learning how to open doors and he must have learned how to open the deadlock because he got out of their house that's located behind this church was able to get here which is about 100 yards away and then ended up in this road which is US-17 North where he was hit and killed his grandfather says he really wishes that driver would have stopped he says he wouldnt have even been mad he would have thanked them for doing what they could to save his grandson 4227 TRACK - As hard as it is to lose his only grandchild, he says at least Morgan was happy in the minutes leading up to his death. He says he loved running and being outdoors -- and he says getting out of the house was probably an adventure to Morgan. Now his hope is to find who's responsible. The Florida Highway Patrol says it has the car that hit Morgan, and is just trying to identify the driver....Investigators are currently interviewing three people -- and hope to soon learn exactly what happened that tragic night.TRACK - EC, C4, TLS.
