Channel 4's Ashley Mitchem was there. 3 00-05 06-11 43-471'25"- 1'30"INTRO: 55:59 The Clay County Sheriff's Office honors the fallen every year...The men who gave it all and left so much behind. 3 )35-year-old Detective David White was shot and killed during a raid of a drug house in Middleburg, in February 2012.Investigators say a man in the home shot Detective White and another detective, Matt Hanlin.Hanlin survived, but White did not.Deputies say another deputy then shot and killed the shooter, Ted Tilley. The case is still on-going - four other people inside the drug home are charged in White's death.Detective White was a military veteran and served with the Clay County Sheriff's Office for nine years.He left behind his wife, Jennifer who was also his high school sweetheart...and their two children.Sheriff Rick Beseler, Clay County Sheriff's Office 37:43 it really shocked the innocence of Clay County and sort of awaken the community that we are not exempt from the tragedies that we see around the country involving law enforcement.Detective White grew up in Clay County...his death is something many people in the community felt.39:09 he was just a great guy everybody loved him they called him a regular guy.Since 1894, Clay County Sheriff's Office has had four men die from gunfire, while on duty.) AM C4 TLS. Two other officers were also honored at the ceremony. Auxiliary Deputy Arthur Caton died of a heart attack in 1979. And, Sergeant Richard Watkins died in a car accident in 1976. 3 Family and friends .. members of the highway patrol and others in law enforcement paid their last respects to a state trooper ..30-year-old Chelsea Richard.
