The U.S. Coast Guard on Friday rescued a couple and their dog from a 42-foot sailboat sinking in the Intracoastal Waterway near Ponce Inlet.
The rescue took place around 11:20 a.m. after a distress call was made from the boat, which ran aground and sank, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said.
The FWC said Michael and Diane Robinson and their Cocker Spaniel, Annie, were taken to shore by the Coast Guard.
The boat, named Primrose and built in 1977, was being removed from the waterway.
