An entire community remembered the sacrifices dozens of local veterans made in the early 90s when the U.S. waged war on parts of the Middle East.
During a congressional ceremony Thursday, 96 men and women who served in Operation Desert Storm were honored.
One by one, each name of those local veterans were read.
It was part of Rep. Ander Crenshaw's 11th annual Special Veterans Recognition Ceremony at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
The event also lined up with Jacksonville's Week of Valor leading up to Veterans Day.
