Convicted Jacksonville molester sentenced to 30 years

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 42-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl.

Prosecutors said Brian Long started molesting his victim in June 2004 when she was younger than 12. The abuse did not end until November 2009.

Long was convicted in July on one count of sexual battery and two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.

Prosecutors said Long was retired from the U.S. Navy.

Bikers Against Child Abuse attended the trial to support the victim.
