Cool, healthy treats
We all know the familiar sound of the ice cream truck. But that ice cream sandwich you love could also be your worst enemy. Here are a few ways you can enjoy a frozen treat without moving the scale in the wrong direction.
Fruit is great but not always in ice form. Some brands brag that they're "made with real fruit" but check the label. Some list sugar as the main ingredient before any real fruit.
Save your waist by making your own. Dilute high-calorie juice with water in an ice pop mold. Then, add chunks of your favorite fruit to give it a twist.
If you need a little chocolate, go for dark. A number of brands, like Skinny Cow, make low-calorie chocolaty treats and even some that are fat-free.
And always look at the ingredient list. The fewer ingredients, the better for you it will be.
Now, for all you adults out there, survive happy hour by staying away from frozen margaritas or daiquiris. Depending on the brand, they can pack a whopping 500 calories. Opt instead for a cool mojito at around 150 calories or wine spritzers which you can find for under 50 calories.
